A Great Week Ahead For Live Blues in the Pacific NW

|

It's almost the middle of November. The summer festivals may be gone, but there certainly isn't any shortage of live blues in the Pacific NW!  Traditionally the northwest's wettest month is yielding many ways for folks in the Puget Sound area to get their blues itch scratched. This coming week highlights how true this is.

Sunday, November 7th is The Blues Invasion in Snohomish, WA. The Invasion a fundraiser to send Back Porch Stomp and Wired! to Memphis, Tennessee in February 2001. They will be representing the Washington Blues Society at the 2011 International Blues Challenge (IBC).

For the rest of the week, Tommy Castro, as well as Rick Estrin and the Nightcats will be touring through the Puget Sound, performing at a handful of different venues throughout the week. Folks in the Puget Sound, no matter where they live, can catch these great artists.

On November 12th, The Candye Kane Band will rock the house at the Highway 99 Blues Club in Seattle as Candye always does. Special guest Mia Vermillion, who released a critically acclaimed debut record last year, will open the show for Candye. Mia's debut CD, "Alone Together With the Blues" made the RMR blues charts and reached #2 on B.B. King's Bluesville "Picks to Click" list on XM Radio. Rumor has it that Mia will be headlining at one of Seattle's premier venues this coming spring. Come out and catch these two blues women. You won't be disappointed!

Candye Kane, along with a whole slew of great blues artists, is in the Pacific NW next week to support United By Music on November 14th. DELTA MUSIC EXPERIENCE is producing an intimate house concert to benefit United by Music featuring David "Honeyboy" Edwards & Michael Frank, The Tommy Castro Band, Lady A & Mac Potts with special guests Curtis Salgado, Karen Lovely, Candye Kane & Laura Chavez, Mia Vermillion and more. You can visit DeltaMusicExperience.com for detailed information. Want stress-free round-trip transportation from Portland, OR to Gig Harbor WA? The DMExpress Blues Bus takes you there!
